Correlation - Added an optimization toggle for deviated correlation sections. Following is some information on the meaning of the settings.

Strat Fill - The slowest operation in drawing cross sections is doing the stratigraphic fill for deviated wells. The "Strat Fill" setting improves drawing speed dramatically at the expense of precise drawing at the well edges. Usually the well edge detail is not critical.

Maximum - This reduces the number of times the program retrieves information from the database. This makes scrolling much faster, but may in some cases mean that the data in the drawing has not been updated with the most recent information. It also suppresses the drawing of well headers.

Correlation- Pick Editing. The possible settings for pick editing have changed, to improve editing efficiency. The settings now have four options:

Interrogate only - Prevents any movement of the pick.

Interrogate/Move - Click and release interrogates only, click, move and release relocates the pick.

7. 66 26th April 2007

IMAGELogWe have removed the IMAGELog general annotation capability. This is not the Comments Tracks, but the old way of positioning text annotation based on a track count from the left of the display.
IMAGELog It is now possible to adjust the width of tracks by simply clicking on the track border with the left mouse button, holding the button down and moving the mouse. When you let go of the button the track width is changed.
IMAGELog Lithology and Facies track types. To edit the top and bases of intervals in these tracks, you can now left click and hold the mouse button on a lithology/facies top or bottom, move the mouse and then let go of the button. The boundary position is repositioned.
IMAGELog Histogram and Geologic track types. We have made the "Snap" options available here when adding entries interactively. This allows you to avoid gaps between data entries. These options have been available in Lithology/Facies tracks for some time.
IMAGELog. General Configuration panel. We have added a Header/Footer tab to this panel. This allows header and footer file settings to be saved as part of a General Configuration. This also means that header/footer file settings are remembered between sessions, rather than defaulting back to set file.
Formation View – Sand Count. The method of defining the boundaries for sand count categories has been changed. We no longer use the color points defined in the current color map in use. You now specify up to 4 category limits by simply clicking on a histogram of the data distribution. The Analysis tab of the Formation View track configuration panel has been modified to perform this operation. When you set Sand Count as the function, then the options to allow you to set the category limits activates.
Well Import – DLIS. We have improved the search for borehole and image orientation curves especially on Baker Hughes tapes.
Well Import – Batch Loading ASCII files. A problem with well names being truncated to 20 characters when batch loading ASCII files has been fixed.

Petrophysics –Netpay. A problem with the Curve Control panel not being correctly updated when switching wells has been addressed.

7. 65 19th April 2007
Petrophysics Normalizing curve using histogram - this is a new capability. It is located under the Edit menu of the petrophysics module - so is available to all clients as part of the Base TerraStation system. The option is designed to allow you to provide a reference histogram based on a well collection, and then modify the distribution of a curve in the current well, by specifying an offset and multiplier value. This can be done graphically with the mouse or by entering numbers manually. See the online help for details on this new capability.
Picking Data from images On the Pick editing panel, we have added a 'X's only' option to the style of cursor available when identifying points on a feature. When using this option, no active sine wave is drawn. You will simply see a X symbol at each position as you click. When you finally right-click to either Accept or Cancel the feature, the sine wave is displayed.
Mapping Color coded contour. You can now deefine the colors to be used by the quick color coded contour map. The currently selected colors are displayed on the control window. Simply click on the desired color to change, and then select a new color. You can save and restore your color configurations.
TCL LIMIT subroutine. This is a new subroutine to allow quicker 'clipping' of data distributions. See the online help for details.
IMAGELog Show data/Symbol track type. We have added a "Category" setting for this track to allow for multiple versions of this track type in the template.
IMAGELog Lithology and facies track types. We have added the ability to left-click, hold down the button , drag and drop a symbol (not the lithology pattern, but the accessory symbols). This allows you to quickly reposition the accesssory symbols within the track. You can also right click on a symbol and select to Delete it .
IMAGELog Comments track types. We have added the ability to left-click, hold down the button , drag and drop a comment. This allows you to quickly reposition the comments within the track. You can also right click on a symbol and select to Delete it . Note this only applies to free form comments added by the user to this track. It does not apply to comment text that is retreived from other files - such as engineering comments, facies, lithology, pick comments. These are fixed to the depth of the particular data item to which they are relevant.
Correlation We have removed the Panel mode section displays. All capabilities available there are present in the main cross section capabiliy and this streamlines the product and removes unneccessary duplication.
Plotting We have resolved an issue with incorrect filling of polygons on multiple page plots to Windows devices and PDF files. We have also addressed an issue with fixed width font output to certain plotters and printers using the Windows Printer output option.

7. 64 12th April 2007
Well Collections When saving a well collection you are now presented with a list of existing well collections, giving you the opportunity to overwrite an existing collection, or create a new one.
Well Import When loading auxiliary file and core data, you can now specify the incoming depth units as feet or metres. In the past we assumed the incoming depth units were the same as the well file they were being loaded to. Occasionally this would not be the case. This option takes care of that.
Well Import The mnemonic APD will now be searched for as the well reference elevation when loading LAS data.
IMAGELog An issue with the behaviour of the Curve track configuration panel when selecting colors, scales, etc has been addressed. It would occasionally take the settings correctly, but then display the incorrect curve as the selected curve you where configuring the display options for.
IMAGELog Lithology and facies tracks. We have addressed a problem when using the "Snap to" options for adding/editing lithology or facies fill area.
TCL We have made certain subroutines accessed by the CALL command be usable within BEGIN-ENDBEGIN loops. The affected routines are listed in the help file, but are primarily the Vshale, SW, and hydrocarbon correction routines. This makes branching to a different SW routine within a loop much easier. When used inside of a BEGIN loop these routine now ONLY process the current depth. Previously these routines were intended only for use outside of BEGIN loops. You can now use them in both places. If used outside of a loop they still process the ENTIRE depth interval, not just a single depth.
Petrophysics - Netpay. A problem with the correct power bar being displayed when leaving Netpay has been addressed.
Mapping - Multi Z Echo Edit A problem with not being able to modify the Y (latitude) value of a well has been fixed.
Dip Analysis - Azimuth vector plot. You can now switch on a depth annotation at any individual vector. Simply right-click on a vector and select Annotate Point on/off . The diagram will redraw with that vectors depth displayed. Note that this 'manual' annotation does not impact any automatic annotation settings. If you want to have complete control of the annotation then first set the Annotation Frequency value on the Display Preferences window to zero. Note also, that the annotation is not permanent. If you exit the module, or change wells or depth interval, then any manually set annotations will be lost. it is intended for immediate usage only.
General - Single item list selectors. A problem with resetting the current item selected when backspacing all the way to the left has been resolved.

7. 63 28th March 2007
General We have fixed a problem that could arise when scrolling with the 'wheel' on a mouse. The software could crash when using the mouse wheel.
Curve Splicer We have added an option to make each curve display in a different color, and each segment in the output curve is displayed in the color of the curve from which it was taken. Use the Auto-assign curve colors checkbox to activate this.
IMAGELog We have added the ability to plot an individual curve from an array curve. Select the array curve as one of your inputs. Then on the General tab of the Curve track configuration panel, there should be a small box to the right of the button displaying the curve name. Enter the array element you wish to use in this box. This box is not present for non-array curves.
Formation ViewerSpeed correction. We have added simple averaging filters to the time and deviation data in an effort to improve the accelerometer correction. These filter lengths can be adjusted under the Speed Parameters option of the Processing tab of the Formation View track configuration.
Pick Data from images We have added an option to convert apparent dips to true dips. It is located on the Pick and Breakout options panel, on the Functions tab. You should be sure that the image being used is displayed on the same basis (e.g. true north) as the apparent dips correspond to.
Well Export We have added an initial version of an option to output DLIS format data. At present this is restricted to exporting curve data from the well file. In the near future we will be adding the ability to include borehole image data also. It is available under the Input/Output menu - Well Export - DLIS/LIS File

7. 62 22nd March 2007
Petrophysical Analysis - Fast Formation Evaluation and the Water Saturation module. We now output automatically curves containing the RW and/or Rmf that was used during the computations. The Fast Formation Evaluation will create curves called RW-QK and RMF-QK. The water saturation models will output curves called TS_SW_RW and TS_SW_RMF. In the case of having more than one model switched on, the stored curves are those used for the last model selected.
Petrophysical Analysis- Depth Interval control. When using "Interval mode", we no longer require a 'Current Interval" to be set. It had become obsolete. It is also easier to set the top and bottom interval.
Petrophysical Analysis - Constants table. You can now 'flip' the units of all of the temperature constants between Celsius and Fahrenheit. Right click in the header part of the constants table to access this option from the menu.
Formation Viewer- Dynamic normalization. We have made major improvements to the display of images that a dynamically normalized using equal size, and where there is a wide range of data with a major cluster at one end of the distribution.
Formation Viewer- Dynamic normalization, equal size mode. We have speeded up the display where there is a step size of zero being used - continuous normalization.
Formation Viewer- Static normalization, equal size bins. We now automatically discard the lower and upper 2.5% of the data distribution of the image data prior to normalizing the image. This improves the image display by removing data points that may skew the coloring process applied to the image data. NOTE: when splicing images, it is a good idea to reset image statistics after the complete image is assembled. Use the Reset Image Statistics option on the Analysis tab to do this.
IMAGELog - Dip display tracks. Picks can now be output in apparent dip mode Set the Computation setting to "Apparent Dip" prior to exporting the values.
IMAGELog - Curve tracks. If you right click on a curve in the track header you can now access the Curve properties panel for that curve. In addition, as the cursor passes over a curve in the header, then a small box automatically pops up to indicate the curve name, function, and version number. This makes identifying exactly which curve it is a lot easier as you do not have to change your curve track header display options to find out.
IMAGELog - Core Image Track. We have fixed a problem with obtaining the correct orientation data for images from the borehole image data file if missing either the SDEV or HAZI curves.
IMAGELog - Facies Track. The facies track now access a new file called -tlfacies.v70 when you press the Select Component button. In the past it used the tlcomp.v70 file along with the Lithology track. By separating them we give more control to the user for defining things specifically for the tracks. This is particularly apparent when using the Report/Export option the obtain summaries of thickness for each facies or lithology. We also added a Category toggle to the Edit Component panel to make setting the category of the facies or lithology more straightforward.
Synthetic seismograms - It is now possible to export the synthetic as a SEG-Y formatted file. Use the option under the Tools menu of the Synthetic seismogram module. NOTE: The file is output using PC byte ordered data, not EBCDIC encoded data.
Plot Dispatcher - Multiple Plot output. We have resolved a problem with the incorrect output file extension being used when outputting a collection of plots.

7. 60 8th March 2007
Petrophysical Analysis - Echo. You can now specify a Fast Curve Frequency value when listing the curve data. This allows those curves at a higher frequency of storage than the regular data to be displayed. For example any curves generated from computations on borehole image data. A value of 0 or 1 uses the standard depth frequency of the well. Any values higher than 1 increase the depth listing frequency accordingly. Also, the table display of curves now displays the function and version of a curve on a separate header line.
Petrophysical Analysis - Histograms. A recently introduced problem with using the user entered minimum and maximum values for a histogram has been corrected.
Petrophysical Analysis - Curve Utilities. We now allow some of these options to use the higher frequency curves that may exist on the well file. You cannot currently utilize these 'fast' curves in Filtering or Bedding options.
Synthetic seismograms - A problem with plot file generation not occurring correctly in certain circumstances has been resolved.
IMAGELog - Pick Display tracks (tadpole, SCAT, etc). We have added an option to allow you to quickly set the computation settings of all pick display tracks to be the same. Simply press the Copy to Other Tracks button on the Track Configuration panel of your tadpole or other pick display track.
Formation Viewer - Processing. We have added additional capability to the FBGA Gain correction option. Users now have a choice of different gain equations to apply, and also can adjust the overall gain applied by use of a Base Gain Value. See the online help for more details on this.
Formation Viewer - CBIL data. We now load the NCNT curve from the raw data. This provides an alternative way to obtain orientation information for this tool. You select to use this data by setting the Raw Data Basis toggle on the Tool Attributes tab to either Tool Frame from Magnetometer or Magnetometer from Tool Frame.

7. 59 28th February 2007
Well Import - Loading lithology data from an external file. A problem with incorrect interpretation of the selected inputs has been addressed.
IMAGELog - Color coded curve track. You can now use up to 256 colors. The previous limit was 120.
IMAGELog - Curve track. When in Full Interval mode, a colored bar is displayed across the track showing the current depth interval in use for the rest of the IMAGELog template.
IMAGELog - Comment track. You can now simply right click at a depth on the track and then select Add Comment in order to begin entering comment text.
IMAGELog - Structure Profile track. We have modified the display to make the picks follow the borehole trace rather than always be drawn down the center of the track. You can also specify the horizontal start position of the borehole trace within the track. Use the Path Start slider to do this., with zero being on the left edge of the track and 1.0 being on the right edge of the track. If the well has no directional survey, then the borehole trace simply goes down the center of the track.
IMAGELog - Lithology and Facies track. Summary Table/Export option. We have increased the length of the names output to the report. This is to avoid truncating names prematurely for some clients. In addition, when using the Component List option, the report now always exports the lithology/facies thickness in alphabetical order and for every entry in the tlcomp.v70 file. If no lithology or facies is found then the value of zero is output. This is to allow consistent outputs for use in other software.
IMAGELog - Pick related tracks with Group Editing option - tadpole, etc. We have added the option to select the picks in the track using a rectangle, rather than a polygon method. When activated, simply click and drag the mouse to surround the desired points with a rectangle in order to select them for further operations.
Dip Analysis - Azimuth vector plot. You can now color code the vectors based on the colors from either the lithology (.LTH) file or the facies (.FAC) file. You can also select which category is to be used from either of these data types (All, 1,2,3,4,5 or 6).
Formation Viewer - We have added the ability to set the track into full interval display mode. Check the box labeled Display Full Interval located on the General tab of the track configuration panel. When in Full Interval mode, a colored bar is displayed across the track showing the current depth interval in use for the rest of the IMAGELog template.
Formation Viewer - Image Form. We have changed the Data Minimum and Data Maximum items on the panel back to sliders.
Formation Viewer - Image Data Editor. We now allow swapping of Odd/Even buttons for all non-FMI pad type devices.
Formation Viewer - Image Data Editor. Filter length maximum has been increased from 120 samples to 1200 samples (usually about 10 feet for 0.1 foot increments). We also addressed a crash condition that occurred if using a maximum length of filter.
Formation Viewer - Processing. We have added the ability to resize the image data file. Select the Resize an Image option.
Formation Viewer - CBIL TT data. We now add the internal distance to the teflon shield for travel time to caliper conversion of CBIL data.
Formation Viewer - General. If the user converts data to True North basis, this is now logged in the "image history" when the processed image is saved.
Dip Analysis - Azimuth vector plot. The settings for this display type are now remembered between sessions.
Dip Analysis - Added access to the Dip Data Options from the right click menu.
Dip Analysis - Stereonet. Rotate around a point. We have fixed a problem with the incorrect dip/azimuth being reported when using a Lower hemisphere plot. The azimuth was off by 180 degrees if using the mouse to position the rotation point.
Petrophysics - Histogram. You can now right click on any single well histogram and obtain the percentiles for the curve being histogrammed. Select Percentile Report from the menu.

7. 58 14th February 2007
General - Well Data Files. The well files are now capable of storing curve data at different sample increments. This has only begun to be implemented and at this time is primarily to allow the storage of sand count data from images at the true resolution of the image. (see below) At this time such data can be plotted in IMAGELog and histogrammed only. It can also be exported via LIS format.
Formation Viewer - Sand counts. The sand count information is now stored at the resolution of the image data. It is still stored on the well file, not in the image file, but it is at the borehole image data resolution.
Dip Analysis - Cumulative Dip plot. You can now specify the display range of the cumulative dip.
Petrophysics - Curve Utilities - Interpolate a curve. We have addressed an issue of not being able to "block up' or "block down" interpolate curves with units of either degrees or radians.
Petrophysics - Fast FE. We have addressed an issue with not being able to display computed data over a sub-interval of the well.
Petrophysics - Crossplot - Pickett plot. A problem with the correct formation temperature being displayed when crossplotting a sub-interval of the well has been addressed.
IMAGELog - Plotting. We have resolved a problem with an inappropriate warning when using the same non-standard curves for both depth reference and grid reference.

7. 57 8th February 2007
General - Well Collections. The 'current' well collection is now written to the USERDATA directory, rather than the project directory. This avoids problems with multiple users accessing the same project, but wanting to use different well collections.
Input/Output - Import of auxiliary well data - picks (dip/azimuths). - we have added the option to optionally load pick quality and pick type.
IMAGELog - Show Data Track - we have added the ability to set the CATEGORY of the data. This allows you to display data that represents shows, as well as the new Stacking sequence display in two separate tracks of this type. You do have to set the category via the Edit Data table for this track type.
IMAGELog - Curve Track - you can now highlight an interval on a curve and obtain a histogram display of the data from that curve of the interval. To do this, you have to be at the main IMAGELog display - where you have a large crosshair cursor. Right click on the curve at the top depth you are interested in, then while holding the right mouse button down, move the cursor to the bottom depth of interest. When you let go you should get a small menu with Cur ve Histogram as one of the options. The histogram will appear in a small window.
Petrophysics - Curve Utilities - Random number curve is now generated using a better process. You can also supply a range to limit the values of the random number curve.
Plot Output - PDF - we have fixed a problem with rotated plots having a shading problem that appeared to create 'bands' of missing color in the output file.

7. 56 1st February 2007
General - Colors - we have added a grey that is much better suite to plotting on color devices. The RGB color triplet is 160, 160, 164 The dramatically reduces plotter "dithering" of this color. It is ideally suited for grid lines. We also added 14 new colors to tscolors.v70. This means all colors selected from the standard color selector (the ones in the small boxes on the left side of the selector) now have names rather than just RGB designations.
General -
